Sun set to shine on Aberystwyth & Ceredigion County Show this weekend

The Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show is being held this Saturday, 8th June, at Gelli Angharad Fields, on the A44 between Aberystwyth and Capel Bangor.

One of the largest one-day shows in Mid Wales, it attracts more than 1700 entries.

Competition is always of a high standard, particularly in the horse section, where breeds all the way from the gentle giants of the Shire horses down to the hardy little Shetlands are represented.

Being in Welsh cob country, the show is proud to affiliate as a WPCS Silver Medal Show, and offer performance medals for the ridden Welsh classes. There are both ridden and in-hand qualifiers for The National Welsh Championship Show, held at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

The Show is affiliated to the following breed societies, Shire Horse Society, Welsh Pony & Cob Society, Shetland Pony Stud Book Society, Chaps (UK) 19158, Veteran Horse Society.

Tickets cost £10 in advance - children go free - or £12 on the gate, and the Met Office is predicting a fine day.

The full timetable for the horse classes is available here.
